Starting Point
BDR Thermea’s digital ecosystem had grown across multiple brands, markets, and technologies, making it increasingly difficult to create consistent experiences while allowing each brand to retain its own identity.
The challenge was to create a shared digital foundation that balanced consistency with flexibility while supporting future growth across the organisation.
Approach
We helped define a shared product foundation that balanced consistency with brand flexibility.
The work supported the transition to Sitecore’s composable platform while creating a scalable structure that could be reused across brands, markets, and future digital products.
Design System
The design system was built around design tokens using Tokens Studio, allowing multiple brands to share one system while maintaining their own visual identities.
Switching token sets updated colours, typography, spacing, and brand assets such as logos. Connecting the token architecture directly to the development environment helped keep design and engineering aligned while ensuring changes remained synchronised.
A branching workflow allowed updates to be proposed, reviewed, and approved before being merged, making the system easier to manage and evolve over time.
Outcome
The project established a shared digital foundation that supported BDR Thermea’s transition to a composable Sitecore platform.
Rather than creating separate solutions for every brand, teams could work from a shared system while preserving individual brand identities. This reduced duplicated effort, improved consistency across markets, and made the platform easier to launch, maintain, and evolve over time.
